Mangiferin always draws the attention of traditional as well as modern medicinal chemists because of its ease of chemical derivatization and diverse biological activities, including anticancer, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, antidiabetic, analgesic, antimalarial, anticonvulsant, laxative, cardiotonic, hemopoietic, antioxidant, antimicrobial, antipsychotic, anticoagulant, and antihypertensive properties.
