Imidazole and Benzimidazole Derivatives as Anti-Inflammatory Agents, Page 1 of 1
< Previous page | Next page > /docserver/preview/fulltext/9789815223460/chapter-3-1.gifIn current days, imidazoles and benzimidazoles are vital classes of Nheterocyclic compounds. One of the 5-membered heterocyclic compounds is imidazole ring structure through 3 carbon and 2 nitrogen atoms and in imidazole structure, N is occupied in 1st and 3rd location in five-membered ring system. It is planer in structure. The imidazole moiety is an essential of numerous significant natural products, together with histamine, purine, histidine and nucleic acid. On the other hand, benzimidazole covers six-membered benzene ring system fused with five-member imidazole ring systems. Benzimidazole core unit molecules continue to be the indispensable focus among the available heterocyclic compounds because of more than a few pharmacological and biological properties. Benzimidazoles achieve the center of attention due to their stability, outstanding bioavailability, and wide range of biological competence. The current study discloses and discusses the biological activities of imidazole and benzimidazole scaffolds widely used as anti-inflammatory agents.<br>
