Abstract

Dear Readers, I am pleased to present the first “News andViews in Organic Chemistry” (we use tocall it “N & V”), a new vibrant andexclusive feature of Letters in OrganicChemistry (LOC) that will provide timelyinformation of new scientific advances, asreported in the most exciting recentpapers published in the organic chemistryliterature. The articles will be selectedafter a careful review of the recentliterature on the basis of scientificexcellence, with a special (but notexclusive!) attention to the work ofyoung scientists. I hope that all of youwill support our work suggesting articlesworth to be highlighted in N & V. Rigorousscientific information will beaccompanied by the author's personalviews, comments by experts in the field, and exclusive “behind-the-scenes” detailson the reviewed research. The authors ofthe selected articles will play a key role inthe preparation of N & V. For this reason, Iam particularly pleased to acknowledgethe collaboration of three young andexcellent scientists who are protagonists, together with their coworkers, of the firstN & V: Prof. Brian M. Stoltz (Caltech), Prof.Tarek Sammakia (University of Colorado,Boulder) and Prof. Bruce A. Arndtsen(McGill University). I would also like tothank Prof. P. G. Cozzi (University ofBologna, Italy) for his outstandingscientific help during the literature reviewprocess. Looking forward to meet you on N & V!!! Sincerely yours Matteo Zanda
